On March 10th, the Campus Conversation on Diversity Series featured a presentation from Prof. Terrell Strayhorn, Professor and Director of the Center for Higher Education Enterprise at Ohio State University. Author of 8 books, 50 chapters, and 100 articles. “Real Talk: From Practice to Action.”
The subject of his lecture was, "Real Talk about Culture, Belonging, and Safe Spaces in Higher Education." In this keynote, Dr. Strayhorn will describe what it means to become a “cultural navigator” committed to increasing the odds for student success. He also will describe meaningful ways faculty, staff, students, and student services professionals can develop meaningful partnerships that are student-centered, foster belonging and community, encourage ownership of student success for all, and provide momentum to ensure student success at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Illinois).
